Reading a Java class file

I have a Java class file which I need to view in text format on Linux. So please let me know how I can convert the class file to a readable format. The Java version is 1.4.2_05.

.java which is readable but .class file is never readable.

There must be some way to interpret the .Class file too using tools such as editor or converter etc

Bytecodes are the machine language of the Java virtual machine. When a JVM loads a class file, it gets one stream of bytecodes for each method in the class.

and class file which is not readable .

if class file is readable then your program became open soure and i think you might think this should not be happend...
