What OS to chose

Hi

We have a storage server that we are about to setup,
Supermicro X8DTI-LNF
6GB DDR3-1333
LSI SAS 9211-8I
36 Western Digital RE4-GP 2TB SATA
2 Western Digital RE4 500GB SATA

My Question is what would be the best OS to use on this system,
keeping in mind the MB uses ICH10R which seems to be a problem
for my first choice Ubuntu Server 10.04 (LTS) 64bit.

Thanks in advance

Sorry forgot to mention,
we have Windows, MAC & Linux workstations,
all of which will need read/write access to the server

Thanks

Many thanks

Does Ubuntu 11 support ICH10R?

also not sure if the LSI controller is supported,
there are drivers for RedHat and Suse.

Just found out there is 20TB of data on the disks in LVM of 2 RAIDs

going to have to put this on a back burner untill I get the data off

FYI the box is running Fedora 14 Desktop?

Will come back to this in a week or so

Thanks so far.
