tcpdump vs ethreal
I looked at the ethreal tool and looks similar to tcpdump. Is there any difference between these two tools?

If you are looking at Ethreal, then you are looking at an obsolete program. You should be looking at Wireshark. Wireshark is very similar to tcpdump, but has a graphical front-end, plus some information sorting and filtering options.
