How to architect the LUN structure of a database platform

I'm working on database porject and I need to architect the LUN structure for a database platform. What are the things I need to consider? Please explain. Thanks in advance.

Still I have the doubt, is RAID 10 and RAID 1+0 are same?
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Make sure that the description process make RAID 1 of each pair of disks and then joins them to appear as a single Group if you stripe disks first and then RAID 1 them, that will be a raid 0+1
mirrored (stripes) versus striped (mirrors)
first stripe (0) then add a feature mirror (1)
First mirror (1) then add them into stripes (0)
