A colleague has about twenty old 5.25" hard drives (I assume they are approaching 20 years old) that he is looking to retrieve files from.  I have looked online for adapters and while i see IDE to USB  for 2.5"/3.5"/5.25" drives, the 5.25" drive support is only for optical drives.  I have noticed the same thing with enclosures, the 5.25" support is only optical.

I am sure there are many complications related to power, interface, file systems, jumper settings, etc that prevent this from being a simple solution.

What are the best options to copy the data from these 5.25" hard drives using modern equipment?

If sending these to a 3rd party vendor is best, can anyone recommend a company?
