domain name to cloud server

HI
I am a novice at cloud hosting
I have previously hosted my very modest sites succesfully on "Traditional cPanel shared Hosting " succesfully linking my domains on one supplier  to the hosting server  from anoter firrm supplying the server merely by changing the name servers
I am making my first trial venture into managing a basic cloud server
I cannot as yet get a domain to point to the cloud server succesfully .
this is my set up
I have a rackspace cloud server  its IP  address  is  say 23.111.222.111

I have intalled an  OS  on the cloud server  and also  webmin and Virtualmin so that I can manage a few small personal  sites and do some development work .

the server is running ( 3 days old )

I have changed the  "nameservers"   in the control panel at the domain name register  supplier to = those supplied by rackspace for my cloud server

I have changed  the dns record in the conrol panel at the domain name register  supplier to  the ip address of my cloud server
i HAVE ADDED  IN THE dns RECORD AT RACKSPACE  FOR MY DOMAIN NAME

if I type in the IP address of the cloud server in a web browser I get to see a page  "It works but no content yet " so i presume  apache is running just fine
If i type into my  browers the url of my domain + www.mydomain.co.uk  I get to see a  "server  not found " error

What do I need to do to correctly get  my domain name  to link  correctly to my  cloud server  please  thanks

Thanks in Advance

Thank you .
I now have the information I need to find and apply a complete solution .
I have  already been successful in aligning  my domain name provider  to the name server of  my cloud server  host  and my cloud servers IP  such that the server is serving pages from the servers root  www folder   to browers request using my domain name .
My next quest is  to master  (or abandon for an alternative  ) webmin- virtualmin   so that  browsers can find  pages served  for  my  domains  other than  from the root www folder

I will do this under a separate question under Webmin
