Is everything works perfect behind firewall?<br />
Try disable port forwarding for that server. FTP using two type of connection, one is 21 for command and other dynamic for data.<br />

I installed the ftp service with windows 2008, i can ftp to the windows 2008 no problem from inside the firewall. From the outside, I can;t ftp tp windows 2008 server. I enable port forwarding for port 21 to my internal windows 2008 box. I do not get an authentication prompt unlike from the inside: (this is what i get on command prompt)<br />

ftp&gt;<br />
ftp&gt; ls<br />
not connected<br />

Do i need to open more port for the ftp service of windows 2008?<br />
