Member hidden from Exchange Distribution list

Exchange server 2007. We have a distribution list setup which contains all users within our company. One particular user is no longer appearing in the distribution list.

When i try to add him i get a message saying "Active Directory operation failed on.....one or more attribute entries of object.....already exists. Object exists.

Have checked user account on AD and shows member of this distribution list. Cant work out why not showing in list and therefore not receiving emails sent to that distribution list.

Any advice?

If you check the Application Log is there an error code that shows up when you do this?

How many Dc's do you have at site?
Is replication working fine?
If you have multiple exchange servers, then there must be some sort of a replication issues.

Have you tried unticking the cache mode in Outlook and see if it shows there??

no error reported in log specific to this.

we have two DC's. the primary is the Exchange svr (we only have 1 exchange server) and the other is the File and print server.  Replication all seems ok. Problem only just started happening for this one user.

Will check cache mode and try power shell etc
i don't have cache mode selected on my email but when i expand the distribution list the user is still not there
Can you check this with OWA...

I solved the issue. Essentially what i did was in AD to drill down to the user properties, go to member of then i changed the user's primary group to be different from the one he was hidden in. As a result the user then appeared in the distribution list in Exchange.
