Copy IIS config 2003 > 2008r2

Can anyone help here as i have little knowledge of IIS

Basically we are moving everything from an existing 2003 server to a 2008r2 server

What are the basics steps in copying IIS/Websites from one to the other, i presume its not as simple as backing up the config and restoring the config?

Until we decommission the old server i basically just need a working copy of the websites on the new one, ready to go live. I appreciate server names, IPs etc are different at the moment but at the point of going live these will change.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).
