Linux Host Based Migration

Hello,

We are planning to do the Migration from  hitachi to EMC storage and we are running linux RHEL. Once new device(EMC) is available to Linux box, how do I go ahead and do the migration.

Right now we have VG name called dataVG, how do I copy the data and delete the old volume? Please advise.

Instead of  rsync the data, can I mirror from old drive to new drive using lvconvert?

You are basically saying create new LUN, PV, VG, LV and create file system and rsync the data from the old drive? Am I right?

IF I want to use the old volume group, how do I go ahead  and proceed?

What I want to do is, I want to bring the new disk into the current volume group, and mirror it and then remove the old disk. Any knows the command to do it?

Thank you very much. I have a question regarding setp 2.

Basically step 2 is basically copying the data from vol1 to new disk which we have added in step1 ?

Other question is if we don't provide the  physical volume, which physical volume it would use?
