Multiple VHD's vs multiple partitions

If I was setting up a VM for an exchange server on raid 10 storage, is there any advantage to either config?

i.e. 1 vhd for the OS, 1 vhd for the database, 1 vhd for the log files vs 1 larger VHD with 3 partitions?

This is one a hyper-v server
