Domain functional level to server 2008

I am running about 6 domain controllers.  I upgraded them all from server 2003 ent edition to server 2008 ent edition.  In AD domain controllers OU when I click on the properties and Operating system of the last DC I upgraded, it still shows as server 2003 hence the domain functional level cannot be upgraded.  When I try to raise the domain functional level the error says 'you cannot raise the domain functional level because this domain includes the DCs not running the appropriate version of windows, I click save as on this error and it shows me the name of the last DC I upgraded'.
What can be done? help

I really appreciate your response.  You are right DCDIAG showed me that my AD replication has all kinds of issues (when I upgraded my last DC the software had disabled the AD replication, I do not why, I enabled it via repadmin /options -servername -DISABLE_INBOUND_REPL and repadmin /options -servername -DISABLE_OUTBOUND_REPL) and wallah...
Then I checked into the properties of the DC OU in AD and the server 2008 which I upgraded to was shown there.  I was able to raise my domain functional level to 2008.
Thanks a lot for your guidance.
Note: I did not followed the article you sent as the DC which was showing as server 2003 was my DC
which I had upgraded and I needed that.
