Seeking To Find Online Sources In Order To Create Or Modify Gadget Templates Windows Vista & 7 Gadgets?

Hello. I have a question.

I am wondering if there is any good program or software on the Internet that designs and creates fully functional Windows Vista & 7 gadgets for the desktop? I am seeking both professional grade program or software products and also programs and software that is more made to be used for the novice which doesn't necessarily mean simpler in terms of graphics and functional finished gadget creations. This is obviously applicable to Windows Vista and especially Windows 7 operating systems.I will say Windows 7 gadget creating is much more important to me.

Open source (free) is encouraged, but any free or paid program or software that designs and creates fully functional Windows gadgets is encouraged. Also, if you know of a particular website that offers gadgets (free or paid) that have preset designs (like templates) where the user just needs to adjust some of the aesthetics of the design or even one that offers a fully customizable functions and operations in addtion to design modifications.

Please provide good website links for software programs or alike for website gadget sources hopefully with images and demonstrations along with the instructions in order to still make one's own Windows gadget. You can add your own detailed steps with suggestions, hints, and tips too if you like.

Please reply.

Thank you!

@ Merete:

Hello. Nice to meet you! Thank you for your comment!

First, I never know there was a difference between "widgets" and "gadgets"! I thought they were the same thing! Vocabulary defined! Yes, computer science is so "specific". I see there is a difference, a slight difference in that "gadgets" are of ownership (maybe licensed) and "widgets" are freely available basically. Thank you for that tidbit of useful information!

Thank you for *your* *recommended* website links for building for both Windows Vista and 7. I never knew EE alone has tutorials on this topic either. Please understand that I am not a computer programmer, so templates and code examples/samples in the recommended programming language is absolutely necessary for me. Many of your links provided demonstrate templates and example/sample code -- good and even I see programs designed for creating gadgets. I have not participated or been over involved yet with your links, I am just skimming your links. They look useful. I can also grab and combine concepts and ideas from various websites sources to create my own gadget/widget for my system too.

Thank you!

@ ve3ofa:

Hello again. Thank you for your comment too.

First, I cannot detract from your comment as an answer with solutions to my question/issue, since I did not state in my question of this thread not to use lmgtfy.com (Let Me Google That For You) and I never stated like I usually do that I am seeking an expert's "recommendations". I will be honest at this time that any expert or user who wishes to use LMGTFY to assist me that are now reading this comment will have their comments ignored with no credit whatsoever in the future. I will remember to make that known in future questions/comments. I do not like LMGTFY. I am not the only one either. I understand the principles of it and surely that is something I CAN DO if I am not looking for expert advice and solutions. LMGTFY is considered unprofessional. I will leave it at that.

I found some of your links useful as well. The one Google recommends from MSDN is good. It seems Amnesty Generator program is appearing commonplace between both Merete's and ve3ofa's responses. I have to look into that.

I will now close this question since I have answers and solutions I am looking for.

Again, thank you!
@ Merete & ve3ofa:

Hello again.

I am going to give Merete the "Accepted Solution" since Merete provides me a good tidbit of information that I really need to know in terminology and EE very well described Windows 7 Gadget creation link. ve3ofa will get the "Assisted Solution" with ve3ofa's links.

In terms of points, Merete will get the greater percentage of points with the tidbit of information provided and EE very own well described Windows 7 Gadget creation link. Therefore Merete will get 300 points and ve3ofa will get 200 points.

Again, thank you both for your help!
Glad to help RegulaOne thanks so much
regards Merete
