Learning Java easily

I have never done even a single line of code in JAVA. I want to learn JAVA as soon as can. What is the recommended book that will start me off with wasting much effort and time.

Try using head first java. The teaching method makes it easy to to learn.
Most other books are too boring for first time readers

I used this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Java-2-Complete-Reference-Third/dp/0072119764/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314955394&sr=1-2

But you don't need to read it all the way - just have some initial chapters and then
installe some IDE say Eclipse and start writying small programs
