Dear all,
We have a Mail Account (For Example : Planning Account) which used by many Active Directory users.
These users complained that Planning Account receiving random old mails again after they already received them earlier.

I checked in our Exchange 2003 Server and our Websesnse Mail Filter server and found that we received the mail only one time.

The problem happened only with this Planning Account and not happened with any other mail accounts whom included in the duplicated mails.

Please advise.

Tell the users to set up their clients (Outlook) to connect to the exchange mailbox and not to use a POP connection to pull the email.

Perhaps they've configured an additional email account in Outlook to pull mail through POP/SMTP? I've seen many people do this. Or perhaps they've configured Exchange to forward a copy of every message to their mailbox, while retaining the original.

1- Users are connecting using Outlook 2007 through the internal network only.
2- There is no additional email accounts in Outlook to pull mail through POP/SMTP, only additional email mailboxes (As attached).
3- No configuration on Exchange to forward a copy of every message to their mailbox.
4- This problem happen in random way (Random mails & in random time) and only happen with one mailbox account for (For Example : Planning Account) which is used by many users.

We had this happening with one of our exec's. The spam filter was showing only one occurance of the message. It would even periodically happen on internal emails. We tried checking for special rules, etc. I found some articles on line that stated it was a bug in Outlook and a reinstall should fix it. Finally, uninstalled his Outlook and reinstalled it. The problem went away.

The Problem happened with many users whom using the same Email Account on many PCs, I think it's not logic to uninstall Outlook from all users PCs.

Have you tried to using the tracking feature, in the tools to see if there duplicate deliveries? The problem with having a lot of people, on mutliple machines, all using one email account, is that this is going to be hard to narrow down. You could have someone doing something to cause it. Have you verified the mailbox to make sure someone hasn't set up some kind of rule?

I used it and found that we received the mail one in our Exchange server, but it has been repeated in outlook.
