SQL 2008 agents

I was looking for information on different types of agents in SQL 2008. Here are some examples:
log reader agent
queue reader agent
distribution agent
log reader agent
snapshot agent

Everything about those agents and other. Any tips?

Ummm....... Your list is basically related to database replication. When people are talking about SQL Server agent, it usually means a task that is done automatically by meant of a built feature which is like windows task scheduler job or cron jobs. That enables one to have regular task to be kicked at configured requirement, like time schedule, or even specific condition.

when you say "different types of agents", let correct that as "different types of jobs". because it is all run by the service call SQL server agent.
