Creating a Small Repeating Background

I have this background image
 Background ImageBut when it is repeated, (My Merchant Account Blog) you can see a break.  The image is 9X5 so I don't know if that is the issue (if it should be 10X5 or 10X10).  

I have Adobe Photoshop 5 and Adobe Illustrator CS5 but creating an image from scratch is not one of my fortes :)

i just created one 4x4 and here is the result. just add 4 points diagonally (each point is 1px). or use attached image. you might want to make it a bit lighter.
