Hi,

I'm on a WinXP Pro, SP3 box.

How to change default "View Menu" setting on Open & Close Dialogue boxes?  Now, the default is "List."  I would like it to be "Detail."  The image below shows what I would like to see in Firefox.  This would also apply to Open & Close Dialogue Boxes in
Application Programs written in .Net or Delphi, etc...

Thanks much!

Hi there
I know the trick!
There is a nice software called File-Ex.
It does what you want plus a lot of additional features that it adds to all of your windows open dialogs.
I upload it's Readme for you to read more about it.
It can be downloaded here:

I found a better solution which patches the windows original file holding the settings.

Description:
FileOpenPatcher from ElmüSoft enlarges the Windows Open File dialog (in Comdlg32.dll) and switches it to Detailview.

download it here:

Good luck

Both software products do the job.  However, there is a minor drawback with each.
1. File-Ex - Costs $19.85. It has a lot of functionality!
2. FileOpenPatcher - is a "patch".  According to the developer, it needs to be reinstalled & system reboot when OS updates are applied.  It can be uninstalled, returning your OS to previous state.

Both are issues are minor.

I decided to go with File-Ex even though it costs $ because of the added functionality.

Thanks much!
