In need of room reservation API's

A client needs to add room reservations to his website, but I have not used these before.

I am a C# developer and have written and used numerous SOAP and WCF API's. But I have questions about these:

1) Are any free to use?
2) Will my client earn some decent commissions on sales? What kind of money for a $100 reservation?
3) Are the SOAP?n What technologies are they typically?
4) Which are the good ones and which are the bad ones?

Thanks,

The 'room reservations' api will depend upon the hotel chain.
2. depends upon the chain and his agreement with the chain
3. depends upon the chain
4. unknown.

My client is not a hotel owner. He has a website.

I am talking about the API for Orbitz, Kayac.com, etc.

This should have nothing to do with the chain.

I see the Kayak no longer offers an API. Hopefully others do.

Please let me know...

perhaps becoming an affiliate of hotels.com is what you want to do http://www.hotels.com/deals/ca-travel-affiliate-program/
