Hello,

I need some help, our SharePoint 2010 does not enable full sign-out for any user.
After clicking sign out from the menu, it transfers me to a signout page with the text "Sign Out: Close Browser To Complete Sign Out", then I close the browse, but if I try access the address again it will open up with my user as if I did not signout.
How can I fix it? please let me know if I left out any needed information.

Hi! Which type of authentication do you use? If you use Windows authentication and site is in local intranet zone, then your windows credentials will be passed automatically to the site, once you open it in browser, without prompting.

Hi

You can stop it but I am not sure why ?

If you are using IE which I am sure you are you will need to change 2 settings.

Under Internet Options >> Advanced >  Security
un-tick  -  Enable Intergrated Windows Authentication*

Then under  Internet Options >> Security
     -  Local intranet > Security level for this zone.
     -- Custom Level...
(scroll to the bottom)

Change the radio button under the User Authentication to
     - Prompt for user Name and Password

Clear you cookies and you will have the desired effect.

You can however use another browser like firefox which will have the same effect as it does not automatically use windows authentication. (Note you will lose some added functions with FireFox)

But as Ivan has already mentioned the credentials that are used to log into the terminal will have access if the IE settings were accessible by the user he could just re-enable them and it would then authenticate without the need for the User and Password.

Hello Ivan and Chris, sorry for my late response.

We are using windows authentication.

I am was using Chrome, after your replies I tested the issue with different browsers, it works fine with IE and Firefox, but not with Chrome nor Safari.

Using Chris's note to clear cookies and cache fixed the issue.

Thank you.
