For example :
t = setInterval(function() {
    var d = document.getElementById("d").innerHTML;
    d+=".";
    if(d.length>3) d=".";
    document.getElementById("d").innerHTML = d;
},500);

Open in new window

if you want to stop the animation, use :
clearInterval(t);

Open in new window

Place this to the header of your HTML page:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
spe=500;
na=document.all.tags("blink");
swi=1;
bringBackBlinky();

function bringBackBlinky() {

if (swi == 1) {
sho="visible";
swi=0;
}
else {
sho="hidden";
swi=1;
}

for(i=0;i<na.length;i++) {
na[i].style.visibility=sho;
}

setTimeout("bringBackBlinky()", spe);
}
-->
</script>

Open in new window

and this in the body of your HTML page

<h1>Processing <blink>...</blink></h1>

Open in new window

and the dots will be blinking
