When I am trying to run a VBscript I get the message Can't find script engine "VBscript" for script.

Running on a Microsoft SBS2008 server.

Probably need to reinstall something, but having trouble finding more information...

Any help appreciated!

vbscript.dll is probably not registered. To register it do the following:

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll

If the registration was successful, you should now see the following message:

DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.

Been trying that, it is registered, at least it says it is. I can unregister it, and then reregister it, both commands show successfull.

I did fix the issue, I had McAffee antivirus installed on that box, and showhow the uninstall of that program didn't uninstall everything.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}\InprocServer32

Was pointing to the (missing) mcafee dll, changed it into the c:\windows\system32\vbscript.dll file.

Had to take ownership of the registry key and make sure I had full permissions, but things are working again.
