Hello Experts,

My server has been visited by the MJ12bot/v1.4.0; http://www.majestic12.co.uk/bot.php several thousand times today, is it a legitt search engine or should I block it?

How do i block it? I'm on a Winows 2K8 box running IIS7 and legacy ASP sites, I'm also using Helicon APE

Hi, it looks like a fake bot that doesn't obey robots.txt

There is some info here about it. There's a contact address there as well.

In that case I'd add an inbound rule to the windows firewall, blocking that IP address. You can configure the firewall here: Start > AdministrativeTools > Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
