MacMini OSX 10.7.1 Lion forgets selected desktop picture

MacMini OSX 10.7.1 Lion forgets selected desktop picture following system shutdown. Followed Help...'Change your desktop picture' procedure to select picture. Restart displays default (?) galaxy image.

How to I get system to remember choice? Problem persists before/after reset PRAM. No problem with Snow Leopard on iMac and MacBook Pro.

Admittedly a minor issue, but indicative of deeper issues?

Turns out problem was photo(s) stored on external drive; moved to internal drive - all OK.

Don't know how to make it happen, but seems I should get at least partial credit!
