When I open a c# source code, from either inside or outside the IDE, the following error message pops up <br />
&quot;&nbsp;vdproject cannot be opened because its project type (.vdproj) is not supported by this version of the application. To open it, please use a version that supports this type of project. &quot;<br />

I tried the latest C# 2010 express edition, and Visual C# 2008 express (from Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 version 9.0.30729.1 SP. &nbsp;Microsoft .NET framework Version 3.5 SP1). Same error.<br />

What should I do? I have no experience with .NET. Advance thanks! &nbsp; <br />

Cannot open C# project with C# express 2008 and 2010

The .NET Framework is not specific to any one programming language; rather, it includes a library of functions that allows developers to rapidly build applications. Several supported languages include C#, VB.NET, C++ or ASP.NET.

.NET Programming

C# is an object-oriented programming language created in conjunction with Microsoft’s .NET framework. Compilation is usually done into the Microsoft Intermediate Language (MSIL), which is then JIT-compiled to native code (and cached) during execution in the Common Language Runtime (CLR).
