ASM can work without RAC => stand alone

Just follow the doc :

From installer specify ASM instance.

Like to make further comment :

As a test : I have created 2 ORACLE HOME's
One for ASM binary install and the other for normal oracle binary install.

My Filesystems :
/APPLICATION/database/oracle/11.2.0   ---- Unix User : orasdba:dba   and Oracle Sid = ORCL
/APPLICATION/database/oracle/ASM      ---- Unix User : oraasm:dba   and Asm Sid = +ASM

Is this right ?

+ASM should be created BEFORE ORCL in order this last one should be able to use ASM diskgroup.

I do not mean to be rude ,, but answers like this I can find through "Google" - I was hoping for more detail - a break down of detail. For example what should my ASM .profile look like and is there specific sotfware for ASM(how do I start) - Is there someone that can provide a more detailed breakdown - instead of yes/no answers and refer me to documentation that I have already seen on the internet through Google.

I don't asnwer to "do my job for me" questions. So if you don't have a PRECISE issue/question, you'll only get vague awnsers.
Then, if you have already a procedure, test it and learn from it.
