How to reset outlook 2003 instant search

Migrated a server from SBS 2003 to Server 2008 with Exchange 2010. When users now use instant search in outlook 2003 - the results come back from 16th August backwards (around the time of the change), and then once complete , it then lastly  shows search results from recent dates ?

Is there a way to re sort / index so results come back from most recent days first ?

Thank you
