Migrating Printers

Hi Experts,

We currently have a multi site 2008 R2 AD environment with 2008 R2 DCs in two sites. We recently colocated our servers and the print server was moved there as well. We would like to migrate the printers over to the original site. Currently the print server was not setup as a print server and just had printers added to it. I was looking into using the printbrm.exe command on the old print server but since it does not have print services setup on it the command does not run. If I were to install print services on it, could I then move the printers over to the DC at the main site? TIA

Yes, I've found that you need at least one shared printer on a print server first.
You can also do the export/import via the Print Management GUI, see:
