Hi guys,

We have found an old switch laying about(3COM 3226 Switch 2CR17500-91), and would dearly like to use it again.
The problem is, we do not have a way of determining its previous netowrk configuration, and as such cannot 'remote' into its web interface to check settings etc...

Have also tried telnetting in using a serial connection, but have not had much luck.

Was wondering whether there is a way to factory reset the device(ie through a button or some sort of other way), to get it back to factory default, and then reconfigure?

Your help would be much appreciated.

From memory, you just need to connect a comm cable to it, power off, power on and you get prompted for username you use -
username - password recover
password - recover

However, this facility can be disabled in which case you're sc***** ! ... I think !

I missed a bit..... after doing the password recover and passwor, power off and on again and you should then be prompted for new administrator password ....
