Emails in plain text; html formatting visible

we had to restore a corrupt exchange database and export it into pst files.  we then imported it into a users exchange outlook (OST file).  some of the messages are displayed in plain text, with the html formatting plainly visible.  some messages display correctly as html, others display only as plain text.  outlook is set up correctly  to display in html, but some of these messages from the restored backup do not display correctly.  if you copy and paste the message into notepad and save it as an html file, then open it with IE the message displays correctly.   other than resending these messages to the user from their own account, is there a way to salvage them?  user is kind of unhappy about the result

hello,

I think you need to repair Exchange database before exporting data in PST (you encountered an logical corruption of your exchange's database).

To do that, you have to run the Exchange's tool 'Information Store Integrity Check" (ISINTEG.EXE) to repair this logical corruption (like html email formatting).
Typical command syntax for Exchange2003 (syntax from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/182081) :
isinteg.exe -pri -test:alltests -fix

if you have Exchange 2007, syntax has changed, look at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125144(EXCHG.80).aspx 

Warning, it can take a while if big databases.
It usually needs to be run multiple times on same database (until fix error = 0 and fix warning =0 ) to repair all kinds of corruption
