Hey guys,

I have a 6MB file on a network drive. Its practically freezing because it takes SO long to open from the network drive.

Testing I have done;
1. turned off ESET AV.
2. copied the file locally and it opens instantly.
3. Rebooted the computer.
4. ping times seem to be fine.
5. Opens quickly from the network drive on other users computers.

Anyone have any ideas?

Verify that 'Microsoft Office File Validation Add-In' is removed from the machine and reboot.

Or if you prefer to leave it installed and want to fix it, follow this KB article from Microsoft:
