Permissions ISSUE!!

Someone with Site Collection Administrator rights(don't know why they had it)  went into peoples and groups and started deleting permissions and because of that hundreds of people lost access to sites in our intranet.

Is there a way to restore those permissions?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Unless you are using a product like ControlPoint, there is no "undo" permissions button out of the box with SharePoint.
