The short and sweet is I have a gridview built in codebehind with textbox and button added to add a note to the record.  The gridview is also sortable.

Problem is it only works if the user does not sort the grid.  I know it is something I am doing wrong due to inexperience.

I am asking that someone send me links to examples of creating a sortable gridview that supports updating also with a textbox for a note and a button to udpate the record.  It doe snot  matter if it is vb.net or c#.  I am searching but so far only have found one or the other but not both together.   Thanks.

The textbox and button is only visible when the grid is in Edit mode right?

Codecruiser:  I did figure out a workaround and can now sort and/or update.
Still I am new to this learning of vb.net and c#.net .   If you could send me some really good websites with usable examples of code for a fairly new beginner I will grant you the points.  Thank you.
