I have created a blog on a site collection and would like to remove it.  It appears that the ability to delete items (blogs and documents specifically) hasn't been enabled.
How do I enable this feature and/or how do I delete the blog from the site collection?

A blog is a just a site, so to delete it, you'd go into the blog site, site actions-site settings, delete this site.
