Can the Chat server role be colacated with the front end role?

To expand on what joeyfaz has pointed out....

If you read his technet ref... it cannot be collocated with any server, that is to say it is not supported.

Usually it is a good idea to read through these entire lumped technet overviews becuase you cang et a lot of insight ont he product.
