Drop Down Menus Implementation

I have been asked to implement a pulldown menu system like this one:

I noticed searching on this site that this can be problem area.

So before I start does anybody have any suggestions for an implementation strategy for this issue?

Plugins will be little easier, but there are also some jquery andd css menus
I am listing down a couple of link that can help you get started

some plugins, which are quite easy

without plugins
