In need of a web interface that will allow me to search and view files in a direcotry and its subdirectories.
I am looking to take a directory, full of subfolders and files, some office docs but mostly ASCII files, and make it available, read only, searchable and easy to use in our production environment. I have tried 2 things.
#1 - I created an IIS web site pointing to that directory. It works but not all files can be opened up (file associations) and I cannot find a way to search it. (IIS6)
#2 - I set up a SharePoint site. I can open the files, I have security but the search engine is not finding all the files, especially when searching for parts of a file name because you don't know the complete name. (MOSS 3.0)
With that being said, does anyone have any suggestions to make one of the above work OR a better solution? Thanks in advance.
