Juniper Netscreen 1000 Feature

I would like to know if Juniper screen 1000 firewall has feature to detect any attack on the firewall or any intrusion on the firewall & send mail notification alerts to the administrators.

For ex if the firewall is being subject to DOS attack or flooded with some malicious traffic is there any mechanism by which the fierwall can sent the alert mail notifications.

In short yes it can.

Screenos has a built in feature called screen options that can prevent dos type attacks.

We can also use our logging config to send email alerts when certain logs are seen. Normally these are for sst type
Logs ie high CPU etc but we should e able to send emails for the critical attacks.

Have a look at the logging page to confirm what steps you can take. Sadly I am not in a position to look at my own ssg device to confirm but the ayslog config is quite descriptive.
