Lotus Notes Traveler and iPhone

Hi All,

Got another one for you.

We are running Lotus/Domino 8.5.2

I am wanting to know if its possible to sync iPhone and andriod contacts back to Lotus. I know your Lotus contacts sync from local contacts to the iPhone and andriod but need it to do it other way round.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

Hi 320adel

I'm also running Domino 8.5.2 with a fleet of iPhones using Traveler. Traveler will sync contacts created on the iPhone after installation of the Traveler ActiveSync account back to the Notes/Domino mail file (provided you set that account as your default contacts account), but it will not sync any existing contacts on the iPhone back to Notes. If that's what you need, you would need to use something like CompanionLink. I have used the iTunes enabled version of this, but not the wireless version, and I found it to be ok but clunky compared to Traveler. The whole point of an iPhone IMHO is to not be clunky, so unless you have a large fleet of existing iPhones with contacts that users need transferred then I highly recommend Traveler.

One way to do a one-off transfer of contacts from an iPhone to Notes if you have access to an Outlook install is to do a native iTunes sync of contacts to a fresh Outlook account, export the contacts to csv and import to Notes. Then you can use Traveler to keep them in sync.

I'm not sure about Traveler's Android functionality but I've heard it's similar.
