Network Devices Backup  - Automation

Hi  

I would like to know if there is any open source tool/Free software by which I can automate the backup of all my network devices. I need to automate periodic backup of all my network devices.
I am looking for a free software or open source tool which can do this.
Let me know if any one has come across this type of too or some one has used it.

is it for backup of the network devices like routers & switches

We use Rancid (http://www.shrubbery.net/rancid/) to backup different types of network gear. It was initially designed to backup cisco equipment but others are supported as well.
