Hi, I am having a really tough time with this and I am tired of searching.  I am working on a little game while trying to learn flash/actionscript 3.  I am trying to have flash retrieve data from a database or file, which contains coordinates that flash uses to move a shape.  what's the best way to send coordinates to flash from an external source?

could someone please point me in the right direction on how to get started?  thanks!
