Well, Backup Exec 8.6 is over 10 years old. There is any number of possibilities from an update from Windows or Lotus Notes that made some change that has caused this problem. Are you using the AOFO? That can cause a problem, particularly if you don't have enough disk space. There is a temp file called _BEVspCachefile_0.tmp. I have had these not delete and cause disk space issues. It is usually located at the root of the C: drive.
