I am running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.  Up until recently every was working fine.  Now when I try to click on a link to any webpage from any email that is sent to me I get the error "General failure. The URL was: "http://www.[anything].com/". An error occurred in send the command to the application."  Any ideas?  This is really annoying.  I attached a screenshot of the error message.  Thanks everyone! Error Message Screen Shot

>>> until recently every was working fine

This is generally a symptom of a virus. Scan for malware and when done also scan with Malwarebytes.

If (for certain) there is no malware, try the following:

1. Run an Office Repair (via Control Panel -> Programs and Features, click on Office and Change.
2. Update Office to SP1 and patch fully.
3. Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator. At the command prompt, run SFC /SCANNOW . Allow to complete and restart. This is System File Checker.

Office repair fixed it!  I did run a virus scan yesterday so I knew it wasn't that.  Thank you very much!
