Have a watchguard x55e.  I have a ftp server on local LAN behind firewall and need to configure watchguard to point to ftp server on LAN from outside world.  Watchguard uses Fireware XTM web UI.  I have looked at manual and nothing is working.  FTP server does work oon any use in internal LAN but not from internet

you need to setup as follows:

add a policy, choose the ftp proxy
from :
external
TO:
add nat
in the nat you say (externalIP/interface --> LAN IP SERVER)

that should do it

I tried that and it didnt work, here are the steps  I did.

Name: FTP-Proxy
Proxy action: FTP-Server (not sure if this should be client or server but I tried both)
Connections: Allowed
From- Any External
To- (Static Nat) external IP of firewall>>>>>internal IP of Ftp server

I then went to outside worksation and did start>run>ftp://(external IP of firewall)

Any other thought

glad you got it solved, and it needs to be the ftp server rule, not the client
also play around with the proxy actions a little (failed login attempts etc)
