DB Lock Requests in SQL, how can I increase or limit them?

I'm getting alot of DB lock requests...how can I increase these or limit them?

I can't keep having my ASPX app having connection issues.

Have you done any investigation into the queries that are running for the application at the times you are getting high DB lock requests? If the amount of load you are seeing doesn't seem equivalent to the amount of expected usage, you will find it is likely related to poorly tuned queries. Check for missing indexes causing table scans, etc.

I thought it was configurable.    You set the number of spids  ( I think two is the max) and limit the proc output by those spids.  But would you get that much bag for your buck there?

Probably better to fix the root cause.
As you will see in the documentation http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175978.aspx this option is planned for deprecation in future version of SQL.
