Dance Revolution pad and pc

I  have purchased a pc-compatible dance pad and need to interface with with my pc but am unclear on how best to do that.  I have not found any drivers online.  What would be the best way to collect and interpret the signals from the pad and control the game?

If this is a DDR USB pad then it should be fairly easy for your PC to detect using PnP.  Are you intending to write software for it or use it as the interface for an existing dance pad PC game like StepMania?

If you're going to embark on programming then treat it as a joystick or 8 key keypad controller.  there's a useful resource and starting point here:
