I just installed a sharepoint 2007 on a newly built server win2008 Enterprise.  I had some pain installing (I had to download patches, etc before install would work). Then I had to change the IIS Machine Key encryption and decryption method to tripleDES for the main sharepoint page to load.  Now I still cant access the site on port 22193 (which it tries to access after the sharepoint install).  The error I receive is attached:

Server Error in '/' Application.
The SiteMapProvider 'SPXmlAdminContentMapProvider' cannot be found.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

How do I fix this?  Is the site with port 22193 really needed?

If I access the site on port 9589 I get the following message: HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.0
Date: Tue, 13 Sep 2011 15:02:13 GMT
Connection: close

I am guessing that this is normal.

If this site on 22193 is sharepoint admin site, it means something is wrong. goto  C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\22193\web.config and see if the xml is malformed. Otherwise try running the sharepoint configuration wizard by specifiying different port number for sharepoint admin and see if it fixes the issue ?

Thank you for your comment pramodsk40.  I resolved the issue by deleting all IIS sites, and rerunning the wizard.  All sites came up without any issue.

Thanks!

the solution for pramodsk40, although may of been a resolution to the issue, I found deletion of all IIS sites to be a less intrusive fix.
