Goldmine report yields blank output

I use Goldmine version 9.0.2. Currently trying to print labels, using Goldmine reports feature. The reports center features various pre-existing labels. However, the address block in existing labels is defined by a macro "&Company&Address". The output of this macro does not include "Title" from the database. I tried customizing an existing label by changing its macro to "&Name&Address", which includes Title, but the output is blank.

This effort is to enable us print labels directly from Goldmine, without having to export contacts firt to Microsoft Excel.

GMGenius kindly review the list on page 47 of this link http://support.frontrange.com/attachments/manuals/goldmine/5/GoldMine5Reports.PDF. &Name&Address is there, but I'm not sure whether the list is a valid one.

when in GoldMine, press CTRL+SHIFT+D (must be a master user) you can then test the & Macros there

&NameTitleAddress should work

Can you attach the lable report file to this and I can check it

&NameTitleAddress works when use the CTRL+Shift+D dialog box. However, in that same dialog box &Company&Address doesn't work.

It appears that the report center uses a different a different set of macros, from the ones used by CTRL+Shift+D

To see the image below, in GoldMine 9
1. Click Go To menu > Reports > Report
2. Expand Goldmine Reports > Labels and Envelopes
3. Right-click Avery 5164 Primary Contacts and select Layout

&Company&Address is 2 macros, so they are &Company and then &Address

I will test and return

Ok, looks like GM9 is bugged (what a surprise!!!)

Best solution is to remove the field and insert 2 new ones F3 (Insert > Expression Field)

 Fields
In the first one add the following code
contact1->contact+sys->para_break+contact1->title

Open in new window

place it then double click and set the dialog as pictured.

 Dialog
In the second expression field add

(.if.contact1->address1<>"".then.contact1->address1+sys->para_break)+(.if.contact1->address2<>"".then.contact1->address2+sys->para_break)+(.if.contact1->city<>"".then.contact1->city+sys->para_break)+(.if.contact1->state<>"".then.contact1->state+sys->para_break)+contact1->zip

Open in new window
