during the installation of exchange you were prompted for the external hostname for the CAS server
ensure that you have a certificate installed and assigned to the IIS service with that hostname
then ensure your external DNS is configured with an A record for the hostname that points to your external IP address

you can also include the SAN for autodiscover.yourdomain.com onto the cert and also create an A record to the same IP
then users can enter their email address and password and have the device autoconfigured (UPN must match email address for some devices)
