Dear all
I am starting to create my first SSIS solution
I heard that “Slowly changing dimension” will do the job for me how?

I want to detect all the new rows added or deleted or edited in specific table, so as far as I understood that “Slowly changing dimension” will do this job for me.

My question:
Is there any details explanation about how it works?
I need many samples preferred to be video

Thanks is advance

Hi,

you can use Look up Component .... by redircting rows we can achieve new records addition and old record updation

1. conncet the data source
2. connect with Look up tranfornation with the reference table as your destination table
3. Redirct the No matching Entries and move them to destination (it consider as a new record "Insert")
4. For Matching records  you can use the Execute SQL task to achive the update and the delete entries in the existing record .

Try this . it may usefull for u
